At ZENTAOEAST, we believe that tea storage is an extension of the tea ceremony itself. The Intertwined Lotus and Peony Tea Caddy is a design-led creation by the Jude Studio (聚德工作室) in Jingdezhen. Combining the lush symbolism of the “King of Flowers” with striking metallic detailing, this caddy is designed to be both a functional vessel and a decorative centerpiece for the contemporary tea room.

The Design: A Tapestry of Prosperity

The motif is a grand fusion of two of the most auspicious flowers in Chinese culture:

• Symbolism: The Peony (牡丹) represents wealth and honor, while the Intertwining Lotus (缠枝莲) symbolizes purity and the eternal continuity of life.

• Metallic Silver Outlining: Every petal and vine is defined by a lustrous silver-toned metallic pigment. This creates a shimmering, three-dimensional effect that mimics the intricate textures of fine silk embroidery, catching the light beautifully as you handle the vessel.

The Palette: Imperial Red & Cobalt Blue

Jude Studio has rendered this design in two profound mineral-based colors:

• Imperial Red: A bold, celebratory red that symbolizes vitality and joy.

• Deep Cobalt Blue: A classic, scholarly blue that offers a serene and timeless aesthetic.

• Mineral Pigments: The use of professional ceramic mineral pigments ensures the colors remain deep and vibrant, resistant to fading over a lifetime of use.

Beyond its artistic appeal, this caddy provides a high-quality environment for tea leaves:

• White Porcelain Interior: The interior is finished with a smooth, non-porous white porcelain glaze. This provides a neutral, moisture-proof environment that prevents the leaves from absorbing ambient odors or becoming damp.

• Versatile Storage: Standing 11cm tall, it is perfectly sized to hold between 50g to 150g of tea, depending on the leaf density (ideal for Phoenix Dancong, Oolongs, or aged White Tea).
