The Art of the “One-Stroke” Vitality

The exterior is dressed in a classic “Man Gong” (Full Coverage) composition of Mandarin fish and lotus.

• The Mandarin Fish (Guì Yú): Painted using the traditional “One-Stroke” (Yī Bǐ Diǎn Huà) technique, the fish appear to shimmer with movement. Every scale is distinct, and the tails sway within the glaze, embodying prosperity and life.

• Ink-like Layers: The cobalt blue oscillates between deep, resonant shadows and pale washes, mimicking the rhythmic layers of traditional Chinese ink painting.

The Alchemy of 1300°C: Jade and Light

The tactile soul of this Gaiwan is defined by its Qingbai (Bluish-white) Glaze.

• Jade-like Texture: Fired at 1300°C, the glaze achieves a remarkable “oily” density, possessing the warm feel of suet jade.

• The Clam Luster (Gé Lí Guāng): A hallmark of high-fired masterworks, the surface reveals a subtle iridescent shimmer when viewed against the light—a sign of its mineral purity.

Huashan Zhuoyin Studio: The Double-Fired Ritual

Crafted by Huashan Zhuoyin Studio, this Gaiwan undergoes a rigorous Double-Firing process. This second journey through the kiln is what imparts the unique “Greasy” handfeel and ensures the blue pigments melt perfectly into the porcelain. It is a rejection of industrial speed in favor of artisanal depth.

• The Silhouette: Designed with a tapered rim and a gathering belly, it is engineered to concentrate the tea’s aroma while offering a comfortable, ergonomic grip.

• The Handcrafted Fit: As a 100% hand-thrown and hand-finished piece, the lid rests upon the bowl with an organic, artisanal clearance. Unlike the sterile, airtight seal of a machine-molded product, this slight natural gap reflects the unique movement of the clay in the master’s hand. It allows the vessel to “breathe” and provides the practitioner with a tactile reminder of the object’s soulful origin.
