The Royal Nectar: 2026 Mansong Wangzishan Ancient Tree Loose Raw Puerh
First Flush Harvest (March 26) | Rare Small-leaf “Xi Ye Zi” | A-Yang’s Heritage Reserve
In the history of the Qing Dynasty, Mansong was the legendary “Imperial Tribute” tea, reserved exclusively for the Emperor’s palate. Within this sacred region lies Wangzishan (Prince Mountain), a high-altitude sanctuary where ancient tea trees coexist in a silent, primeval forest. At ZENTAOEAST, we present the March 26th First Flush—a tea of aristocratic grace and profound sweetness.
The Rarity of the “Xi Ye Zi” (Small-Leaf)
Mansong Wangzishan is one of the few regions in Yunnan that preserves the ancient Small-leaf variety, known locally as Xì Yè Zǐ.
The Recognition: Unlike the common large-leaf Puerh, these delicate leaves offer a sensory profile that is remarkably recognizable. One breath of the dry leaves reveals an intoxicating fusion of wild orchids and honeyed mountain fruits—a fragrance that is as persistent as it is elegant.
The Bone of the Forest: Growing amidst diverse vegetation and undisturbed soil, these ancient trees have developed a deep mineral “Qi” that vibrates through the water.
The Path Home: A-Yang’s Vow
This harvest comes from the family of A-Yang, a young woman of the Dai ethnic group whose ancestors have tended the slopes of Wangzishan for generations.
A Modern Return: After graduating from university and working in the city for two years, A-Yang found herself yearning for the mist of the mountains and the stillness of the tea groves. She chose to return to her roots, dedicating her modern vision to safeguarding her family’s traditional craft.
The Hand of Grace: A-Yang’s gentle and meticulous nature is reflected in this tea. Harvested on March 26, 2026, the leaves were processed with the “True Heart” of a master, ensuring the delicate small-leaf structure remained intact.
The Five-Pillar Profile: Sweet, Gentle, Fine, Elegant, Long
Mansong does not seek to overwhelm the palate with bitterness or aggression. Instead, it invites the spirit into a state of “Liquid Stillness.”
Tactile Silk: The mouthfeel is exceptionally smooth, full-bodied, and velvety. It glides over the tongue like mountain dew.
The Evolution of Sweetness: From the very first sip, a profound sweetness (Tián Dù) dominates. As the infusions progress (up to 15 rounds or more), the layers of orchid fragrance and mountain energy deepen, leaving a resonant, cooling sensation in the throat (Hou Yun).
Curator’s Verdict
“Mansong Wangzishan is a tea for the ‘Intellectual Palate.’ I was moved by A-Yang’s story—her return to the mountain is a mirror of what we strive for at ZENTAOEAST: reclaiming our center. This 2026 harvest is the finest example of the ‘Xi Ye Zi’ variety I have ever encountered. It doesn’t shout; it whispers of orchid groves and royal history. It is a ‘Lifelong Companion’ that will age into a masterpiece of honeyed wisdom.”
