Yellow Tea
Yellow Tea is one of China’s six major tea categories, yet remains one of the least familiar and most mysterious. Produced in relatively small quantities, it is distinguished by the traditional men huang (闷黄), or yellowing process, which gives the tea its characteristic mellow character, gentle aroma, and subtle sweetness. From Junshan Yinzhen to Mengding Huangya and Huoshan Huangya, Yellow Tea represents a rare and quietly refined tradition within Chinese tea culture—one that many tea drinkers around the world have never had the opportunity to discover.
