Ripe Pu-erh Tea
Ripe Pu-erh and Raw Pu-erh are two remarkably different expressions of Pu-erh tea. While both originate from Yunnan, their processing methods, character and drinking experience are fundamentally different. Ripe Pu-erh undergoes controlled post-fermentation, developing a smooth, mellow and deeply rounded character that places it naturally alongside China’s dark teas.
For this reason, we present Ripe Pu-erh separately from Raw Pu-erh. If you enjoy the deep, smooth and mellow character of Ripe Pu-erh, you may also enjoy other Chinese dark teas such as Liu Bao, Anhua Dark Tea and Tibetan Tea. If you prefer younger Raw Pu-erh, whose character can be closer to green tea, white tea and lightly oxidized oolong, we encourage you to explore these categories as well.
