Raw Pu-erh Tea
Raw Pu-erh Tea, also known as Sheng Pu-erh, is a distinct style of Pu-erh that undergoes natural aging after the traditional production of sun-dried maocha. Unlike ripe Pu-erh, which is intentionally fermented through the wet-piling process, young and moderately aged raw Pu-erh retains a fresh, lively character, with aromas and flavors that can be reminiscent of green tea, white tea and lightly oxidized green oolong.
At ZENTAOEAST, we treat Raw Pu-erh as a category of its own, particularly for teas with less than two to three decades of aging. If you enjoy the deep, mellow character of ripe Pu-erh, you may also enjoy exploring other Chinese dark teas such as Liu Bao, Anhua Dark Tea and Tibetan-style dark teas. If you prefer the freshness, fragrance and vitality of Raw Pu-erh, we invite you to explore our selections of traditional Chinese green teas, white teas and lightly oxidized oolongs.
