Half-Handmade Yixing Zisha Teapots

Half-Handmade Yixing Zisha Teapots represent an important handcrafted tradition within Yixing Zisha craftsmanship. Unlike machine-made teapots, half-handmade pieces are created by artisans who use plaster molds, also known as forming molds, only during the core shaping stage to help achieve precise forms. All other processes, including clay preparation, trimming, spout and handle shaping, lid fitting, surface refinement and finishing, are completed by hand.

This method combines the artistic skill of the maker with the structural advantages of mold-assisted forming, often resulting in excellent symmetry, smooth proportions and highly precise craftsmanship. Many outstanding Yixing Zisha works are created through this approach, offering an ideal balance between traditional handmade artistry, consistency and value.
